Looking Back (24)

Time is flays by like a slug on a roller coaster, doesn't it. It is exactly that way with school, but only if your having fun of course. That's the thing, I have had fun, its been an awesome half year. It just seemed like yesterday i was registering in the AC. I remember how exited I was to start my last year of High school, hang out with new and old friends, and create new memories. And now its half over. Time does fly.

Friends are one of the best gifts God has given to mankind. Thought the fore years iv been at Weimar i have gained not just many friends, quality friends. Theirs one thing i have discovered this year about friends. before i have always wanted my friends to be nice to me and respect me, but I've realized that I haven't treated my friends the way i would want them to treat me. In the past i would get irritated when my friends would tell me a flaw in my life, until i read the quote, "A real friend stabs in the front." this really opened my eyes to what friends really are. I'm so thankful for all my friend, from this year and the latter.

Hush-Hush...Don't Tell (23)

If I told my friend a secret, I wouldn't want him to tell anyone. Some might think that a true friend will keep a secret under all circumstances, no matter what happens. But their is one exception. The only time I would want my friend to tell some one my secret is when it is a emergency situation, and it would save or benefit someone or me if the secret was told. Secrets are meant to be held. So in conclusion a true friend will always keep a secret, but will tell it if it will be for the good.

The Square Root of Beauty (22)

If God had come to me in a vision before i was born and asked me if I in my future life I would want to be a genius and be but-ugly or to be the hottest man alive and be dumber than a sheep. Now the question is, what would i answer? This is obviously never happens, but if it did i would rather have the brains than the looks.

If you think about it, good looks can only get you so far in life. You might become the best model ever, but what does that way up to eternally? On the other hand being smart get you somewere in life. You will be able to do good in school, youll be able to get a very good job, and most important you could use your brains for the forthbringing og the gospel

It dosent matter how good looking or smart you are, the only thing that does matter is that you know God made you the way you are for a purpose. And even if you are but-ugly, when Jesus comes again we will all be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

WO-man! (21)

Women should be treated equal to men, they should not be descriminated against or looked down on. Because women often base their decicions on emotions and feelings, they should not hod offices of high responsebility.

Genesis 3:16 the Lord said to the woman, "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."

God intended for the women to be in the home and suport her husband and famely. That dosent meen that she cant go out and work, but when her work takes up all of her energy and time, it is better for her to be at home and take take care of the house, children and to suport her husband.

Holliday Spirits (20)

You know what? I had my whole Thanksgiving break planned out. I was going to have a blast playing soccer, hanging out with friends, and getting high of the holiday spirits. Then my parents told me, "Son, you’re getting your wisdom teeth pulled on Tuesday." It hit me like a boxer receiving an unexpected blow by his opponent. "What, my wisdom teeth?" I exclaimed, "That will ruin it all!"

Previous horror stories from my friends had given me a clear vision that getting my teeth extracted would not be a pleasant experience. Just imagine four teeth being yanked out of your head, resulting with cheeks the size of basket balls-witch everyone would laugh at and say with a bantering voice," look at the cute little boy with the cheeks. Isn’t he just adorable?" Ok it wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t that great either. Getting up every six hours to get high of your meds, and drinking smoothies all week isn’t that fun. It sucked! Not being able to eat the delicious Thanksgiving dinner, but the thing that really sunk my ship was that I could not eat my favorite pie.

Now that it’s all over with I realize that getting your wisdom teeth taken out does not make you dumber than you already were. That’s pretty much all I have to say about my break. Oh, here is some advise: when getting your wisdom teeth pulled, schedule it for a time when nothings planned and you were already planning to be board.

The Box (19)

The TV has scattered peoples interests. Nothing is withheld from people nowadays. When something happens anywhere in the world it doesn't take more then 24 hr. until the whole world knows about it. Now that everyone is being fed evrything on a silver plate people have lost interest in everything. Things that before were exiting, are now boring. People are never satisfied eanymore, they are always looking for more. People do not valuing things the way they used to. The stinking TV just cant stop can it?

Super Sanguine (18)

Just a couple of weeks ago the senior class all took our personality tests. Of course i scored high on sanguine.

I hate being alone. I'm the kind of person that just cant be alone for more than five minutes. I have to be doing something exiting or be with my friends. The only time i can be alone is when I'm spending time with God, but you cant really count that because Gods with me.

It is when I'm with my friends is when I get very uncomfortable with myself. When I'm spending time with God thats where He takes that self consciousness and turns it into confidence, so that when i next go out into the world and hang out with my friends i have nothing to fear for my God is near.

To young for college? (17)

I read this article called, "Heading Back to College," which talked about the great increase of 'Baby boomer's' going back to college. Here are the answers to some questions asked me about it.

Really i personally don't care if older adults go back to school. If they want to, let them go. I mean, they are people and if they want to re-educate themselves, that's fine.

I don't think their would be any major draw backs if an older adult went back to college. Except for that they would not really have any friends of their age and it might hold them back from being with their family's.

From my observation the youth in the colleges today, you could say need to be straightened up in their ways of behavior. I think that older adults can have a huge impact on the youth because they guide them in the right direction, because of their experience.

Well to do what Mike Flynt is risky at his age. Fulfilling a dream is what drives and keeps us going when difficult times come. That was what drove Mike to play College football at age 59. It inspires me, that's for sure.

Response on Drinking (13)

In response to the U.S. News & World Report article, "A Host of Trouble" I will be writing about some of the thought provoking things.

I do not agree with what the critics are saying about social host laws, and how they will end teen drinking. In some cases it it true that it was the parents were responsible for the drinking, but in most of the cases the parents had nothing to do with it at all. By punishing the parents it might give a guilt trip to some of the teens and make them stop but for the majority the laws wont help at all.

The parents should not be held responsible for their teenagers party's, drinking and drunk-driving. That does not mean that the parents shouldn't try to discipline the teens early on and when they have done something wrong. I think the teens should have to pay the full penalty. Because if the parents always are taking responsibility then the teens will never learn how to do it themselves.

The main effects of parents allowing teen drinking is that of course it is not good for them physically, and they might get killed themselves or they might even kill some one else in drunk driving. Also drinking in general is not good, so their are lots of family related problems that can come up on the future.

Here is some advise to parents who want to stop teenage drinking. First of all you need to be and example. If the teen sees you partying and drinking he or she will want to do the same think. Second you really need to crack down on them if you see any sins of drinking. Just straight up tell them that you don't want them to drinking, and them follow through with what you said.

Holiday Memories (14)

Well the holidays are coming up pretty soon, so i figured that I'd write about some of my favorite holiday memories.

Christmas is one of my favorites because that's when my distant family and I get to hang out and have a good time. The most memorable Christmas memory was last year when all my family came to my grandma's house in Lincoln, Nebraska. On Christmas Day my uncles and cousins and I decided to go to the park and play football. We had a great time playing in the crisp winter air. It was awesome to spend quality time with my family.

My least favorite holiday is Halloween. One reason is because it is the Devil's holiday, but the main reason is because it was the day my Uncle got into some trouble. It all happened on October 31 about six years ago when my family still lived in Norway. That evening we got a call from my grandma who told us what had happened. On my Uncles way home from being with some friends he had accidental hit two boys who were out "trick or treating", killing one and braking the legs of the other. It was dark so he thought he had hit some trash cans so he just kept on driving. Later on that evening the Cops came and arrested my uncle and put him in prison for manslaughter.

My uncle is not a Christian so please pray for him as he is in prison.

Stuck to Myself (12)

If it weren't for Hay-Hay's enormous love for constructing things out of duct-tape, I wouldn't be stuck in this pickle.

One day she asked me to be her model for a suit she was going to construct. After previous experience with the construction of several random items, i knew this would be a sticky situation.

Half way through the assembly it just wasn't what she had planned, so she pretty much ditched me and that's how I ended up duct-taped to myself.

Greatness-- For Now or Eternity (11)

On this earth when someone achieves something big or reaches a goal, they are considered famous and great. But I think as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr said, "greatness is achieved by service" he brings out a very good point. Greatness should not be determined by what or how much one has done, but why you did it.

We as Christians should never do something for the ''greatness" of this world but for the joy it will bring Jesus. We should not strive for the glory and praise of this world, but for the riches and praise we will receive in Heaven for our good deeds. Our main focus should be to make Jesus happy.

We Are All People (10)

Personally do not fully know the reasons or motives for the war in Iraq. First i was supposedly about the oil, then terrorism, and who knows what next. But theirs one thing I know, no matter how good of reasons or motives the U.S. government has, it does not give them a reason to kill innocent people. We grope over the fact that the almost 3,000 deaths and nearly 30,000 Americans have been injured in the war in Iraq. But what we don't hear about is the 655,000 Iraqi deaths so fare in the war and even more injuries. We don't hear about them do we? They are people. They do have feelings, families and rights just like us. Thy are people even though they are small in our society.

I Would Like to Meet... (8)

The person I would want to meet the most is Enoch from the Bible. The reason i want to meed him is because he knew the key to living eternally, which was to walk with God.

So these are a few question's i would ask him if i could meet him today:

  1. What was it like to live about six thousand years ago?
  2. Wat are some key tips to have a solid walk with God?
  3. How was it to walk and talk with god daily?
  4. How did you wittiness to others in your neighborhood?
  5. When you did try to share your awesome experience you had with god, What were peoples response
  6. What was the main thing that kept you faithful to God?
  7. Did it ever cross your mind that God was going to take you to Heaven or were you just living your life like you were going to die in the future?
  8. What was the thing that kept you going and not giving up?
  9. What is God like?
  10. Did you think Jesus was going to come in your life time?

"All The World's Stage" (7)

In the first two lines in Shakespeare's poem As You Like It, 1600, it says, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." This beautiful poem one can clearly see that the world is symbolized as a stage on which a play is played, and that we the people are merely the actors.

I think their can be a spiritual meaning to the phrase all the world's stage. God is the director of this big stage, the world. and it is our job as actors to fulfill and accomplish our parts in the play of life. The purpose of the play is to prove to all the universe that God is King and that He has concured sin and Satan. For the play to be successful is up to us. I want to have a part in the play! The question still to be answered is, what part am i going to play?

Small, But Overwhelming (5)

Microtrends are small, little insignificant trends which, after a while become huge crazes. Microtrenders are those who participate in these growing fads. Examples of common microtrends are teenage knitters, left handedness, and high-class bodyincers. The above microtrends are growing rapidly.

The main reason for the huge growth in microtrends in the U.S. is the urge to find new outlets of self-expression. People just want to step out of their mediocre lives and be noticed.

Hillary Clinton hired Mark Penn, who is the author of the book Microtrends because she knows that Penn understands the science of microtrends and the people it affects. She knows that people with a lower income are more likely to vote for the candidate that satisfy their stand on certain issues. So by understanding these trends she can modify her presidential campaign, to increase the number of voters.

The whole microtrend phenomenon has started a new way of thinking. Meany are falling into the idea of "Whatever feels good, do it." This is leading not caring if people are gay or not. This thinking lets people do whatever they want.

Penns book may have been published to increase Hillary's votes in the elections. Personally i don't think Penn's microtrend strategy will make that big a difference in the elections.

Considering Weimar Institute is so small, their are not really any outstanding microtrends. Their might be some small ones but they are hard to notice. Iv been thinking though that i should start one just for the fun of it, so if you have any ideas, please enlighten me.

Into The Blue (3)

Looking down into the clear, almost glass like, blue waters of lake Tahoe, sent a thrill of joy through my body. I was standing on a ten foot pole about fifty yards from shore. Floating below me were a few of my friends in canoes, cheering me on. As I got ready to jump into the water I took a moment to take in the scenery.

From where I was standing I had a clear panoramic view of the lake. The majestic mountains were towering over the clear blue waters,The sun was reflecting in the spray of the speed boats flying by. And far out it seemed like the color full sail boats were dancing on the waves. It was just beautiful!

Suddenly I came back to my senses, and realized that my friends were waiting for me to jump. So with all my amazement i gathered my courage and jumped. As I fell those ten feet into the blue, I realised how good God is, and that he had made all this for me.

To Pay or Not to Pay (2)

Everyone in the world works toward a higher goal, they want to be successful in life, and they wants the best for their family and friends. This is the reason why thousands of Mexicans cross the U.S, Mexican boarder every year.
Their are two kinds of immigrants. The immigrants that come to America to take advantage of the United States' economy, and those who come looking for a better future. The later actually want to contribute to the financial stability.

Mexican immigrants have a big effect of America's social structure, some good some bad. The illegal immigrants in the Unites States take up almost seven percent of the population. But sadly most of them are here to take advantage of the economy. Thousands of the immigrants come to the U.S illegally and stay in our city's and get almost all the privileges we do. But the thing that affects us the most is that they get health care for free, while us Americans have to work our butts off for health care. But the question is, who is paying for the illegal immigrants health care? We are! Americans who cant even afford it for ours selves have to pay the immigrants health care.

Another thing that is degrading the whole country's social status is that when they come over here and take all lot of our jobs. But the thing that is really bad is that they don't have to pay taxes on they're salary, which leaves us, the Americans to pay for all their fees. For example, if an illegal immigrant gets a speeding ticket, so who gets to pay for the ticket? We do, and if an illegal immigrant gets thrown in jail, who gets to pay for their health and dental care in the prison? We do. So in other words we the citizens of the United States have to pay for all the benefits the illegal immigrants get.

I do agree with the president of Mexico in the fact that the United States and Mexico could in the future could have some agreement about immigration. But it would have to be in a controlled manner.

Their could be some prophetic meaning to all this immigration mess, but it does remind me of the text in Revelation which talks about how men will run to and fro. so their might be something but whatever happens we should keep in mind that all things work together for those who love God.
